HHO Generator Plans – Water For Gas Kits

You can find details on HHO generators on the internet. HHO is a gas which has been experimented with and has become the talk of the town amongst a lot of entrepreneurs  who are trying to perfect HHO fuel cells to enhance gas-mileage. Since the prices of gasoline is on the rise, petrol saving schemes and devices along with additives are soon going to be flooding automotive convenience shops.

As fuel prices go up steeply, new methods of conservation and improvements in mileage are being looked into very deeply. Fuel additives and contraptions are being created to improve the mileage. HHO is gaining popularity very rapidly amongst researchers and there is a buzz going about that it will soon be the new gasoline-supplement, a new face to the world of hybrid technology.

This technological marvel has also been experimented with diesel engines and a lot of others are making use of it in all sorts of other fossil-fuel run machines. If we look at the conversions required to make cars work with propane, it can be noticed that HHO requires far lesser modifications in the engine.

HHO kits can be installed/removed from the engine without any major change or adjustment. Most recorded test cases of people installing HHO kits claim a rise of 15-40% in mileage and in some cases, even more.

HHO generators are relatively easy to construct even at home and they can be built over a weekend. Based on what plans you use, most of components to an HHO generator can be purchased in the town or found in your garage or house.

On completion of its construction, it is advisable that you test the generator before connecting it with the engine. Most of the time there is sufficient room under the engine hatch to fit the HHO kit in. Sometimes, more than one HHO fuel cell is added to further improve the cars mileage.

Electric Motor Scooter For Kids

The usage of electric scooters is gaining popularity amongst those trying to cut costs, and yet have some form of quick transportation. Apart from electric scooters being easy to use, handicapped people and senior citizens prefer these scooters to their wheelchairs.

Wheelchairs can barely move for a few meters whereas electric scooters run for quite a few miles.  However since they are still a new concept, the pricing is out of most peoples budgets as just for a standard electric scooter you might have to dish out upto 900$. This is a quite a large sum of money for people who work under a strict budget. Nevertheless it is not an object which only the rich can take advantage of. Cheaper versions are available if you only knew where to look for them.

The best place to start hunting for them is the internet.  You can gain a lot of information and knowledge  regarding the scooters and view photos of the models you are interested in rather than driving all the way to the stores. Generally the local stores will have a huge price tag as they need to pay their employees.

The next step is to take a look at vehicle auctions. A lot of folks out there swap their scooters to get loans with some creditors and if they can’t pay, the scooters land up in auctions and get sold at rock bottom prices. It is uncommon to find a scooter in vehicle options but its worth giving it a shot.

The third thing is to keep a lookout for sales. Electric scooters come under vehicle sales and so you can get them at a steal if you look at the right time. It’s nice to get chummy with a staff member at the store so that he/she can tell you when the next sale will be coming up so you get a headstart compared to other people. Thus you can save yourself some time and money and can lookup internet reviews of the particular scooter that you intend on purchasing.

Low cost electric scooters are available in the market so if you don’t have enough to buy one at store listed prices, fear not. All that you are required to do is have some patience, skill, resourcefulness and ingenuity to be aware of exactly when the scooter you want goes up on sale.

The Value Of Owning A Portable Garage

If by chance you’re not fortunate enough to have your own garage, the following paragraphs will show you exactly how useful  these portable garages can be.

Portable garages are weather proof ports that are simple to set up and easy to transport. They’ve extremely helpful when it comes to protecting your car from the villainies of nature such as hail, snow, rain and wind.

Ownership Value:

You will be pleasantly surprised by the benefit’s  portable garages can provide.

Cost Effiecient:

Portable Garages are priced at only a fraction of what it would cost to construct a garage of your own. Thus you would be protecting your vehicle and your wallet.

Don’t Require Foundation:

Unlike building a garage, the portable garages don’t incur the cost and agonizing waste of time for pouring a foundation and then waiting for it to dry.

Building Permits aren’t Required:

When a structure is built, it first needs to be approved  by an inspector and then it’s given a permit to be built. A portable garage doesn’t require you to carry out such laborious work.

Easy Set-up:

It takes barely any time to build a portable garage. All you need to do is construct the framwork made of tubular steel and then drape it with a canvas rather than the amount of hard work that would need to be put in to build a standing garage yourself.

Flexibility:

Not only does the garage take next to no effort to be set up but it is extremely portable and versatile as well. It can be used for all sorts of cars or as an outdoor office for a project that needs good ventilation.

Different Types of Portable Garages:

Many different materials can be used to make a portable garage. Some of them include: mesh, polyester or plan canvas tarps. Choosing the right material depends on your usage conditions.

Sizes:

Portable garages are available in many different sizes depending on the size of your automobile or even a motor boat.

Shapes:

Portable garages can be dome shaped or house shaped with the angled roof on top.

Purchasing  portable garages is a good way of shielding your vehicle  from the elements at a much lower cost as compared to building a permanent structure. It will be a very smart buy on your part to protect your valuable vehicles.

Water Ingression Test: Must You Pay for Your Oil Testing?

Given below is the second out of 6 useful tests that you can use to analyze oil and you don’t even need a chemistry set to do it.

You can use this test, called the crackle test, to determine whether condensation is causing your engine problems. People who only drive short distances or use their cars sparingly are more susceptible to this condensation.

Why is this a problem? Water in the oil causes acid to build up in your engine which causes corrosion. This corrosion will lead to something called pitting which is not good for your automobile’s engine. Even AMSOIL which is a high TBN extended synthetic oil can eventually be affected by acid/water build up. Thus, it is very important that you find out if your oil is being affected by water build up quickly so that the additives in the oil that are made to fight this process don’t get used up. For this you can use the crackle test.

But, if you do the blotter spot test prior to the crackle test and find fuel in your motor oil there is no need to perform the crackle test as the fuel that is present will cause your results to stray from the real picture. This is the main reason why you perform the blotter spot test before the crackle test. If there is fuel present in your oil, you anyway need to change your oil and the results that you get from the crackle test will be indecisive.

This is how to perform the crackle test: First, take a small amount of motor oil and put it into a hotplate. A few drops would do. The hotplate must be at a temperature higher than 212 degrees Fahrenheit which is the boiling point of water. As motor oil does not become volatile till it reaches a temperature of at least 350 degrees Fahrenheit, you can set the temperature of the hotplate to anywhere between 250 and 300 degrees.

Now, you need to listen carefully to be able to hear the water crackling. You should be able to hear this at temperatures above 300 degrees Fahrenheit. If there is water in the oil then you will hear it crackle. Try to keep the amount of oil to a minimum as more oil will take longer to heat.

If you still choose to get the oil analysis done by professionals, you will be told if the oil is contaminated and also how much of it is contaminated. But you do have to pay for this and even though the crackle test does not give so much information, it doesn’t cost you anything and can at least tell you if there is oil or not.

What Are OEM Automotive Parts

OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer

So Basically these are the original parts that your vehicle came off the automotive assembly line with. OEM parts can be found at authorized distributors and dealership for which ever brand of vehicle you are referring to. These parts are typically going to be more expensive then aftermarket parts which is why dealers will tend to lead you to believe that these OEM parts are of a better quality. Which maybe the case in some instances . . . but it never hurts to see what the competition is. Because even though they are ” OEM ” they may not be made by the original manufacturer. MANY manufacturers have parts produced by outside independent companies. Then they will install by machine or place them in boxes so they can be sold as ” OEM ” parts.

What Are Aftermarket Automotive Parts

Aftermarket parts are products produced by companies that are not affiliated with the original manufacturer, but are made to either replace or upgrade the original part. These are generally less expensive however they have equal if not BETTER performance then the OEM product. But dont get confused, because after a certain amount of time the original manufacturer will all the aftermarket product to be sold in their own packaging at a lower cost. These products are referred to as aftermarket OEM parts.

Motorcycle Parts : OEM vs Aftermarket Parts

We all know that shopping for motorcycle parts can get out of hand especially when you are on a tight budget so whether to buy OEM or AFTERMARKET bike parts can be a daunting choice to make.

There is alot of cut throat competition when it comes to motorcycle products, thats why you need to examine and actually put effort into finding the one part that you are looking to purchase. If you are coming across crappy parts, dont be afraid to search through the OEM prices, you can still find good deals from all the companies out there that are selling at just a little above dealer costs. You would rather spend the few extra bucks getting the better product then getting a product that will end up destroying something else MORE COSTLY down the road . . . that there are NO aftermarket parts for. Those are the words you dont want to hear. If you hear ” I’m sorry sir / mam but actually no one carries an aftermarket product for that model. ” THEN YOU HAVE PROBLEMS, because the dealer KNOWS that there arent any other options and they are going to give it to you where it counts . . . RIGHT IN THE . . . wallet.

So all in all it really just boils down to, what type of motorcycle product you are looking to purchase. Also what you are looking to do, are you trying to replace something or improve your bike. Either case you will have to consider a few factors such as whether or not that particular motorcycle product is even available, your budget, and if any one even carries that product or if you will have to wait weeks for an internet purchase. But which ever your choice you should always see what else is out there before you buy that one motorcycle part.

The BMW Alpine White 7 Series

The newest addition to the prestigious line up of automobile produced by BMW is the new avatar of the luxurious 7series called the BMW Alpine. The Alpine has been unleashed to the markets recently and offers 3 brand new engine-based variants, enough technology to make your jaw drop and a multitude of re-adjustments compared to the older variant.

The new 7 Series has had a major facelift when it comes to style. The raised rear end has removed all traces of Chris Bangle’s design input and the front end has been smoothened out to give the car a more stream-lined look but the trademark ‘nostrils’ still prevail and make sure that the car is indeed a BMW.

The expanse between the front doors and the fender is linked by an intriguing feature that runs along the side. Apart from this, the car is a breath of fresh air from BMW. The new hockey stick shaped LED tail lamps and dual-exhaust pipes placed carefully to merge with the car’s body gives this mega-luxurious vehicle a slightly sporty feel.

The interiors have pretty much been remodeled in the same manner: the predictably appealing design but crafted in a complete different fashion. The dash exudes the typical BMW craftsmanship and gives you the feeling that you are in-fact, sitting in a German vehicle. However each and every detail has been changed, revamped or just been added.

The central console has been shuffled to make it more user friendly and less mangled as compared to the cars predecessor. The column mounted gear box and selector has been replaced onto the centre stack, changing the old stick to the same shift-unit that is presently being used in BMW’s premier SUV’s; the X5 and X6. BMW is also holding claims that their i-Drive device has undergone some changes to improve its intuition and make it more easily accessible thanks to the addition of re-programmable function switches.

The BMW 7 Series-Alpine boasts of a standard 12-speaker hard drive based AV system with a 6Stack DVD changer, AUX and USB inputs. Apart from this, the car also comes with standard 4Zone Climate Control Air-Conditioning, 3-D Satellite Navigational system, ventilation for the front row passengers, TV receiver and a voice recognized control system.

The V8 engine variants come with 16 speakers and a system that includes 9.2inch screens placed in the front seat’s headrest for rear passengers to view. The top end 750li model goes as far as to include massagers in the rear seats as well as complete ventilation for the rear row.

The next point to be noticed is the choice of engines. The 750i and 750li both come with 4.4 liter twin turbocharged V8 engines. They churn out a good 300kW and 600Nm. On the other hand, the 740i and Li both run on a 3.0liter Sterling Twin-Turbo Straight-6 engine and are able to produce 240kW and 450Nm. The V8 can zip from 0-100km/hr in a mere 5.2 seconds whereas the 6 clocks in a little slower at 5.9. Both cars are electronically restricted to traveling at a maximum of 250km/hr.

Finally, we take a look at the first Turbo Diesel 7 Series variant to be sold; the 730d. It delivers a solid 180kW/540Nm from a 3.0 liter Turbo-6 engine which propels the hefty car to 100 in a quick 7.2 sec. However the car is a fuel-guzzler and consumes 7.2l per 100km which is relatively lower than the the 740i’s 9.9 and the 750’s 11.4 liters/100km.

A distinct energy re-generation process captures the spent kinetic energy of the car while brakes are applied and uses this energy to charge the battery in the new 7 Series-Alpine. Thus, the pressure on the alternator has been dropped which releases more power and improves the fuel efficiency.

The chassis of the car is relatively lighter. The hood, top, doors and side-panels, key suspension parts and rear diff housing are all crafted out of lightweight Aluminium alloy. This gives the car better handling, performance and mileage.

The car also has dual-wishbone front suspension systems which is new amongst the BMW sedans. The dampers can all be manipulated electronically as a standard feature in all variants, with a range of ride-programs that the driver can choose between.

When it comes to accessories, the new 7 Series has not failed to astonish. Gadgets include a heads-up screen for the driving seat, night-vision camera that can locate people in the car’s way, a lane monitoring system that alerts you if changing lanes could be dangerous at that instance, a reversing camera to aid in parking, a wheel rim saving side view camera and there is always the option of including rear wheel steering. There is also a camera meant to detect your speed.

The pricing of the car as of April ‘09 is as follows:

- 730d $198,800 (Available only from June ‘09)

- 740i $203,000

- 740Li $218,000

- 750i $274,200

- 750Li $291,200

Why Not Drive A 2004 Buick Rendezvous ?

Up till today there is definitely a lot of things that you would have heard about the driving experience in the 2004 Buick Rendezvous. But, the actual question is whether it is actually worth its price tag. Every car always has disadvantages irrespective of how cheap or expensive it is.

If you are one of the people that are wanting to buy the 2004 Buick Rendezvous then you should have a look below at what some owners of the car have to say about the disadvantages.

Owner 1 – The transmission started to slip after I completed 32,000 miles. Till then it was a good driving experience. When I reached the 34,000 mile mark, weird noises started to come that sounded like groans from the differential. This sound came each time I used to take slow turns. The computer died out when I reached 40,000 miles. The car refused to start after that and my only choice was to tow the car and get the computer replaced. Being a Buick, the maintenance is obviously very expensive and something as simple as fluid flush for the differential costs $185.

Owner 2- I personally feel that the side mirrors are too big for the car and this reduces your vision of cars that are turning towards you or of people that are walking on the sidewalk. The brakes have also been very inconvenient at certain times.

Owner 3- There are 3 complaints that I have about my 2004 Buick Rendezvous. These are the back hatch, the lights and the cargo area. I am quite happy with the automatic feature that the lights have but there are sometimes at which I want to drive without the lights and it is at these times that I wish that there was an “off” option apart from the “on” and “auto” options. There are also quite loud squeaks that come from the hatch at the back. This noise is quite clearly audible when the radio is turned off, especially if you are driving over bumpy roads. And lastly, I always find myself folding down my rear seat to increase the cargo space and the bad part about this is that they never seem to fold flat.

Owner 4- For me the biggest problem I face is the huge side mirrors. The 2004 Rendezvous has the biggest side mirrors that I have seen, ever. Apart from this complaint, I have to say that backing up in this car can be especially difficult if you are a short driver. I have to use the side mirrors while reversing instead of the rear view mirror.

All cars have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you are planning to buy the 2004 Buick Rendezvous then you should first conduct a quick survey that is thorough as well about the automobile. There are a wide range of reviews about the car available online. Weigh the positives against the negatives fairly. This will help you make the important decision whether the 2004 Buick Rendezvous will be able to fit comfortably into your lifestyle.
